The Liberties Haunt Festival is an annual large-scale series of events that engages
young people and families within the Dublin 8 area.

Since 2019 Dublin City Council, Joined Up, Happenings, youth organisations and residents
have been delivering high-quality, socially impactful and community-led Halloween
festival.

Their mission is to gradually change behaviours around how Halloween is celebrated in the Liberties through positive social engagement and creativity.

“We provide a genuine alternative to bonfires, fireworks and general anti-social behaviours that are associated with that time of year,” they said in a statement. “Of course this year we’ve moved the party online.

“Each year, youth groups, community groups, businesses, schools and residents come together with Dublin City Council and the gardai to contribute, volunteer and ensure the continued success of this incredibly impactful and memorable event that the Liberties area deserves.”

It kicks off at 5.30pm on Halloween Night with ghastly ghouls, dancing demons, singing sirens and a whole throng of terrifying talent from the halls of Smock Alley straight into your home.
