FG councillor asks Donaghmede locals to help name new park

Dublin City Council member Supriya Singh has launched a public consultation inviting local residents to help choose an official name for their local park, following the securing of funding through the Discretionary Fund for permanent signage at the park.

The park currently does not have an official name, and residents are being asked to choose from three suggested options — Donahies Park, Streamville Park or Millbrook Park — or to propose an alternative name.

The Fine Gael councillor said “I’m delighted to have secured funding through the Discretionary Fund for permanent signage for the park. Before that signage is installed, I felt it was important that local residents have the opportunity to decide what their park should officially be called.”

“This is a local park used and valued by the community, so the people who live here should have a meaningful say in its name.”

Councillor Singh and her team will be canvassing locally over the coming days, giving residents an opportunity to complete the consultation in person. Residents can also participate online by scanning the QR code provided on the consultation leaflet.

One response per resident is being requested to help ensure the consultation reflects genuine local feedback.
