Meadowbrook swimming pool repair works to be completed next week

Repair works on the Meadowbrook swimming pool in Ballinteer, are scheduled to be completed early next week, it has been revealed.

Labour councillor for Dundrum, Peter O’Brien said in an online post: “I am delighted to announce, following confirmation from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council management, that the works in our pool in Dlr Leisure Meadowbrook will be completed fully early next week.

“Once restrictions are lifted we can get back in our pool.

“This time last year I made a commitment, that working with all your local councillors and council management, we would make sure our valued community facility would reopen.

“COVID has understandably delayed the progress but the wait will be worth it.

“I can’t wait to get back in.”

The main swimming pool was closed in February last year when tiles began falling off the walls of the pool but repair works were delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The children’s pool also closed in late 2019 due to a similar issue.
