Gardaí appealing for anyone with information on fatal Finglas shooting to come forward

Gardaí in Finglas continue to investigate a fatal shooting incident that occurred in the Deanstown Area, Finglas, Dublin 11, yesterday morning.

Gardaí and emergency services attended a scene at Deanstown Avenue at approximately 4:30am.

A man, aged in his 20s, was discovered with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene remains preserved and technical examinations are ongoing by the Garda Technical Bureau.

A Garda spokesperson says that “the body was removed from the scene a post mortem examination has been concluded this evening by Chief State Pathologist Dr. Linda Mulligan, at the City Morgue, Whitehall.

“Specific details of the post mortem are not being released for operational reasons.

“An Garda Síochána have appointed a family liaison officer to the family of the deceased and continue to engage with the family at this time.

“Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information on this fatal shooting to contact investigating Gardaí at Finglas Garda Station.”

An Garda Síochána are also appealing for any person in the area of Deanstown Avenue, Deanstown Green, Deanstown Road, Cardiffsbridge Road, Dublin 11 or any adjacent/ surrounding roads between 9.00pm Saturday 2nd April and 04.30am on Sunday 3rd April 2022, particularly the drivers of any vehicle or other roads users who may have video footage (Dashcam or other form…) to contact investigating Gardaí.
