Third juvenile charged in relation to incident at Howth Dart Station

Gardai have charged a male juvenile in relation to the incident that occurred at Howth Junction Dart Station in April.

He is the third person to be charged in connection with the matter.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: “Following directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Gardaí have charged a male juvenile who was previously arrested in relation to an incident of violent disorder that occurred at Howth Junction Dart Station on Thursday, 1st April, 2021.

“He is expected to appear before Dublin Children’s Court on the morning of Friday, 12th November, 2021, at 10:30am.”

The incident, which was caught on CCTV, showed a group of young males intimidating passengers trying to board a train at the station.

During the incident one youth can be seen shoving his bicycle in the direction of a woman who, in her attempt to evade the bike, fell onto the tracks below.

In May, four teenagers, aged between 13 and 16, were arrested in relation to the incident.
