Ballymun Plaza/Cearnóg an tSeachtar laoch set for revamp

Padraig Conlon 12 Jul 2021

Dublin City Councillor Noeleen Reilly says she has welcomes the plans to revamp Cearnóg an tSeachtar Laoch.

Speaking today after the Public Consultation period was opened she said:

“The Plaza in Ballymun is a focal point in the town centre.

“All of our major community events are held here from the Halloween Festival, Ballymun Market to the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.

“It is a great big open space but it has been felt for some time that it is not reaching its full potential.

“Proposed plans for the Plaza would see increased community participation, improvement in environmental aspects and the relocation of the Anode/Cathode Sculpture from the Trinity Comprehensive School.

“For a number of years, we have allocated funding from our budgets to improve this space.

“Now we are looking for the views of the public in relation to this and if there is anything more the community in Ballymun would like to see.”

The consultation is open from July 11th – August 20th
