IRELAND International and Leinster rugby player, Michael Moore, has joined forces with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles as brand ambassador for their award winning pickup, the Amarok.

The Amarok is a class leading 4×4 pick up utility vehicle that has been winning awards and ahead of the competition since it was launched three years ago.

Commenting on the partnership, Marty said:

“I am delighted to join the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles team acting as brand ambassador for the Amarok.

As the official Van Partner to the Irish and Leinster Rugby Teams and as Ireland’s favourite vans for over 60 years Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is a fantastic brand for me to partner with.

“I recently took delivery of my new specially commissioned edition Black Amarok and I am truly delighted with the experience so far, it’s an all round lifestyle car for those who need premium levels of comfort and functionality.

The Amarok is available with entry and highline trims. The Highline trim provides additional comfort with alloys, Leather Steering wheel, fog-lights and climatronic air conditioning included.

All models are 4 -wheel drive and engine sizes vary between 140hp to 180hp with the 180hp engine also available in a highly fuel efficient 8-speed automatic.

According to Alan Bateson, Managing Director, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles:

“The Amarok exudes premium quality and presence in keeping with Volkswagens core values.

“We are delighted that Marty has joined us as brand ambassador for the Amarok. The name Amarok comes from mythology and is a gigantic wolf that is said to hunt down and devour anyone or anything.

“At 1.8 meters in height and nearly 20 stone in weight, with a proven track record of hunting down the competition, we feel that Marty is well positioned to represent the Amarok.

“Marty’s power, agility and strength on and off the pitch are qualities that sum up both the Volkswagen Amarok and the brilliant rugby he plays every time he puts on his jersey for club or country.
