Hundreds of Fingal homes available under affordable housing scheme
Dublin People 19 Apr 2024Fingal County Council is offering more than 450 homes in 2024 of which 339 homes for purchase across the county are open for applications as detailed below:
- North County Dublin- 16 homes available for sale under Affordable Housing Purchase Arrangements scattered throughout North County Dublin.
- Church Fields in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15, boasts 180 affordable homes, comprising 59 two-bedroom and 121 three-bedroom properties.
- Balmoston, Ballymastone, Donabate, there are 86 affordable homes up for grabs, featuring 34 two-bedroom and 52 three-bedroom units.
- Balleally Rise in Hands Lane, Lusk, presents 21 affordable homes, including 15 two-bedroom and 6 three-bedroom properties.
- Kilmartin Grove in Dublin 15 offers 36 affordable homes, comprising 22 two-bedroom mid-terrace units and 14 three-bedroom mid-terrace units.
Applications will be accepted via an online application portal starting from 12 noon on 26th April 2024 for 16 homes available for sale throughout North County Dublin under Affordable Housing Purchase Arrangements. The homes available for purchase are located in the following Developments: Millers Glen, Swords (6 houses); Mooretown, Swords (2 houses); Station Road, Lusk (3 houses); The Paddocks, Donabate (3 houses); and College Avenue, Belcamp (2 houses). Prices range 2-Bedroom from €300,000, 3-Bedroom from €370,000 and 4-Bedroom from €450,000
Two more schemes in Wilsons Brook, Hollystown Dublin 15 and Aster Park, Rush, will open in the next 4 weeks.
Fingal County Council has agreed with GEM Construction to deliver 180 homes in Church Fields, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15. The scheme will comprise of 59 no 2-Bed Homes starting from €263,500 and 121 no. 3-Bed Homes starting from €315,000. Registration for this scheme opened on the portal on Tuesday 9 April.
Partnering with Glenveagh 86 affordable homes are available in Balmoston, Ballymastone, Donabate, Co. Dublin. There will be 34 no. 2-Bed Homes starting from €299k and 52 no. 3-Bed Homes starting from €310k. Registration for these homes opened on Tuesday April 16.
Also open to applications are 36 homes in Kilmartin Grove, Hollystown, Dublin 15 with 22 2-bed mid-terrace units starting from €315k and 14 3-bed mid-terrace units starting from €345k. There are also 21 affordable homes available in Balleally Rise, Hands Lane, Lusk comprising 15 two-bedroom homes and six three-bedroom homes being delivered by Lagan Homes.
Further homes will also be made available soon with almost 500 planned in total. When a new Affordable Housing portal opens, all Applicants need to complete the registration process and register for that particular Scheme, regardless of whether they have applied on a previous scheme as all of the application portals have different links and are separate to each other. Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Adrian Henchy, said: “The Affordable Housing Scheme is giving more people the chance to purchase their own home. There was a lot of interest in the schemes already put up for sale and people will be delighted that there will be even more homes available for purchase in the coming months.”
The Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, AnnMarie Farrelly, said: “Our Housing team has worked with the Department of Housing, the Land Development Agency and developers like Glenveagh, GEM, Ballymore, Lagan, Gannon and Manley to create a substantial pipeline of affordable homes across Fingal. We have already brought schemes to market, and it is great that over the next few months we will be inviting applications from prospective homeowners for almost 500 homes in 11 different locations across Fingal.”
Fingal County Council’s Interim Director of Housing, Paul Carroll, said: “We have targets under Housing For All for the delivery of affordable purchase and cost rental homes so we are making good inroads into that. The Affordable Housing Scheme is giving people a realistic chance of owning their own home.”
