Dublin People 12 Dec 2014
A GROUP of Northside schoolchildren are lighting up the stage in
‘Cinderella’ at The Helix, having won their ticket to theatrical stardom via Ireland’s only panto boot camp.
The talented youngsters from Castleknock, Finglas and Clonsilla are joining
‘Love/Hate’ star Mary Murray, better known as Janet, in The Helix pantomime, now running until January 11.
The up and coming singing and dancing stars include Caoimhe Joyce Mooney (10) and Chloe Doyle, from Finglas; Niamh Grimes (11) and Bobby and Abbie Flannery from Castleknock; and Kate Kavanagh (11) from Clonsilla.
The local youngsters were among 200 young hopefuls who were put through their paces at Ireland’s only panto boot camp this summer. Their lessons included singing, dancing and schooling in the art of panto. But only the top talent gets picked to perform at The Helix, home of Ireland’s best produced traditional pantomime.
