Revenue seize alcohol at Dublin Port

Revenue officers at Dublin Port have seized over 1,100 litres of wine with an estimated retail value of over €15,800, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of €7,850.

Revenue officers made the discovery when they searched a van that had disembarked a ferry from France on Saturday as a result of routine operations.

Investigations are ongoing.

“These seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illicit alcohol products in the shadow economy,” Revenue said. “If businesses, or members of the public have any information, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800295295.
