€5.1m cannabis seizure

Yesterday, as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue Officers seized 255 kgs of Cannabis herb, with an estimated value of approximately €5,100,000, in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.

This seizure was made as a result of a coordinated and joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue’s Customs Service.

A Garda spokesperson said:

“Four males (aged in their 20’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s) were arrested by An Garda Síochána in connection with the investigation, and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007, at Garda Stations in the Dublin area.

“Investigations ongoing.”
