Garda Anti-Corruption Unit investigation: Four gardai suspended and one charged in Dublin
Padraig Conlon 12 Mar 2024The Garda Anti-Corruption Unit has been carrying out an investigation into the activities of a particular Garda unit based in the Dublin Region.
Four gardaí have been suspended from duty and one member has been charged as part of the investigation.
One man, a member of An Garda Síochána, has been charged and is appearing before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
A garda spokesperson said: “As this is an ongoing criminal investigation An Garda Síochána is making no further comment.”
The investigation is believed to be focused upon interactions the individual gardaí had with members of the public.
The probe was led by the Anti-Corruption Unit which is a part of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
