The Olympic Federation of Ireland are considering leaving their Howth headquarters on Harbour Road.

The sporting body have written to Ministers Catherine Martin and Jack Chambers regarding the possibility of moving the Olympic Federation from their current premises in Olympic House, Howth, to the Sports Campus in Abbotstown.
The Olympic movement in Ireland have been in their Howth headquarters since January 2005.
At the time then Sports Minister John O’Donoghue, hailed its opening as “a unique milestone in the history of the Olympic movement in Ireland, this being the first time that it has acquired its own dedicated premises.”
16 years ago around €650,000 of Government money was put forward to help what was then called the Olympic Council to pay for their new building.
Peter Sherrard, CEO of the Olympic Federation of Ireland, confirmed to Northside People that a move could be in the pipeline.
“We have notified Minister Catherine Martin, Minister of State Jack Chambers, Peter Hogan, Katherine Licken and John Kelly about the possibility of moving to Abbotstown,” Sherrard said.
“We are reviewing a number of options at the moment and that’s something that’s a possibility.
“We don’t know how quickly these things move, there are lots of different options.
“How long could any potential move take? No one can say for definite.
“However we have agreed at board level to consider the possibility of a move to the Sports Campus but there is nothing confirmed yet.”
