Athletics Ireland today launched a new state-of-the-art website (www.athleticsireland.ie) to cater for the significantly increased levels of site traffic on the back of a hugely positive period for the sport.

With Athletics Ireland targeting a record membership of 70,000 this year, the Association has delivered a website which offers a host of newly upgraded features including a redesigned site navigation for more intuitive exploration, a fixtures & results section featuring an integrated filtering system for customised event searches, and a user-friendly interface with advanced functionalities aimed at providing an unparalleled digital experience for all users.

The new site also offers a newly upgraded ‘club finder’ which includes details of the over 360 clubs located nationwide.

A newly integrated master events calendar offers the recreational walking and running community the ability to search all Athletics Ireland permitted events (5ks up to ultra marathons) on one user friendly platform.

Hamish Adams, CEO of Athletics Ireland, said: “We are delighted to unveil our new website at such an exciting time for athletics in Ireland.

“Our goal is to provide a platform that not only informs and engages, but also inspires and supports our athletes and community.

“We are very fortunate to have so many great ambassadors within our sport, highlighted by the recent performances at the Olympic Games in Paris, and this new site will ensure our digital presence is as dynamic and forward-thinking as our athletes.”

The focus on user experience will ensure that the new Athletics Ireland website is not just a source of information, but a hub of activity and interaction for a diverse athletics audience.

Daragh Browne, Marketing, Communications, and Sponsorship Manager for Athletics Ireland, said: “Our website is a key pillar within our digital strategy and this new site will offer us greater flexibility in meeting the changing needs of our users, while also reflecting the vibrancy of our growing sport.”
