Two young fighters from Nutgrove Boxing Club are celebrating a major achievement after claiming national titles at the Boxing Ireland National Championships in the National Stadium.
Kayleigh Jennings and Aine Marrinan both came out on top during a standout weekend for the south Dublin club, securing All-Ireland honours in their respective divisions following months of intensive training and preparation.

Kayleigh claimed the National Girl 1 35kg title, while Aine was crowned National Girl 2 37kg champion, marking a significant milestone for both athletes and their club.
The road to national success began with the Dublin Championships in March, where both boxers booked their places on the biggest stage in Irish amateur boxing.
Kayleigh progressed after receiving a walkover to become Dublin champion, while Aine faced a much tougher route, overcoming last year’s national champion to secure her place at the finals in the National Stadium during Easter Week.
Finals weekend is regarded as one of the biggest events on the amateur boxing calendar, with clubs from across the country gathering on the South Circular Road in pursuit of All-Ireland titles.
The atmosphere was electric from April 10 to 12, as the National Stadium filled with supporters eager to see the country’s top young talent in action.
Kayleigh, aged 11, was first into the ring on Friday night as she contested the Girl 1 35kg final.
Despite the pressure of performing on such a big stage, she showed composure and focus throughout the bout, taking control before stopping her opponent in the second round to secure the national title.
Aine followed on Saturday morning in the Girl 2 37kg final, determined to go one step further after suffering a narrow defeat at the same stage last year.
She delivered an impressive performance, showcasing her skill and preparation by dominating each round on her way to claiming the title.
Both fighters have been in constant training since February, committing to twice daily sessions six days a week, including regular sparring, as they built towards the championships.
Their success reflects not only their own dedication but also the work being done behind the scenes at Nutgrove Boxing Club, where coaches continue to develop young talent at grassroots level.
The double victory brings the club’s total number of national titles to seven, underlining its growing reputation within Irish boxing.
For Kayleigh and Aine, the wins mark the beginning of what promises to be an exciting future in the sport, while for the club, it is further proof that their commitment to hard work and development is paying off.
