Irish Water working to safeguard supply to homes and businesses in Kylemore Park, Bluebell and surrounding areas

Irish Water working in partnership with Dublin City Council is carrying out essential watermain improvement works in the Kylemore Park / Bluebell area in order to safeguard the water supply to homes and businesses in the area.

The works involving the installation of a new district meter and meter chamber are being delivered by GMC Utilities Limited on behalf of Irish Water.

District meters are used to track network flows and volumes and are an effective tool in helping us to detect leaks on the network so that they can be prioritised for repair.

Works are scheduled to take place on Saturday 22 May from 9am to 3pm.

In a statement, Irish Water said:

“Whilst Irish Water and Dublin City Council have reconfigured the network to maintain normal supply to as many properties as possible, some customers in the following locations may be impacted by intermittent supply disruption for the duration of the works; Old Naas Road, Bluebell Avenue, Bluebell Road, La Touche Drive, La Touche Road, Huband Road, Canal Terrace, Kylemore Road, Kylemore Way and surrounding areas in Dublin City.

Speaking about the works, Matthew Thomson, Irish Water said, “We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and working in partnership with Dublin City Council are making every effort to minimise any disruption that these necessary works may cause. The delivery of these essential works will help to safeguard the water supply to homes and businesses in Kylemore Park, Bluebell and surrounding areas ensuring a safer mores sustainable water supply.”

Traffic management including a traffic light outage on the junction of Bluebell and Kylemore Road will be in place to facilitate the safe delivery of the works, with traffic management in place. Local and emergency traffic will be maintained at all times.
