Minister announces 5 new classrooms for Queen of Angels Primary School

Local TD and Special Education Minister Josepha Madigan has announced the provision of new classrooms for Queen of Angels Primary School in Wedgewood, Sandyford.

Minister Madigan announced that the school has been approved for additional accommodation of 3 new mainstream classrooms and 2 new special education classrooms.

“This is a great day for the school community in Queen of Angels Primary School,” Minister Josepha Madigan said.

“These new classrooms will ensure that the school can continue to grow and provide an excellent standard of education in the heart of the community.

“As a local representative, based in the Department of Education, I was determined to do everything I could to support the school.

“I want to congratulate Acting Principal Avila Donegan, the Board of Management, all the staff, students and families for their efforts in bringing this about.

“I look forward to contuing to advocate for local schools as part of my role within the Department of Education.

“As Minister for Special Education, I particularly welcome the provision of two new special education classrooms at Queen of Angels Primary School. This is in recognition of the local demand for special class places which I am determined to address.

“Queen of Angels is a wonderful and inclusive school. It is important now that these new classrooms are built as quickly as possible for the benefit of the school community. I will be following up with the Department of Education to ensure this happens.”
