Man arrested and €110,000 cannabis seized in Ballinteer

Gardaí investigating the sale and supply of drugs in the Dublin 16 area have arrested a man and seized a substantial quantity of cannabis herb and a sum of cash.

Shortly before 8pm last night Gardaí stopped a vehicle in Ballinteer and conducted a search of the vehicle and person and a small quantity of cannabis was recovered.

A follow up search was conducted at a property in Ballinteer, and cannabis herb (pending analysis) with a street value in excess of €110,000 was seized, along with €2,000 in cash and other drug paraphernalia.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in relation to the seizure and is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Dundrum Garda station.

Investigations are ongoing.
