Euromillions winning ticket bought in Stepaside

A CO Dublin EuroMillions ticketholder is €176,702 better off today after matching five numbers and one lucky star number on last night’s EuroMillions draw.

This meant that the player was just one number short of winning the whopping €17 million jackpot!

This ticket was purchased at the Centra Store in The Village, Enniskerry Road, Stepaside, yesterday.

While encouraging players in the Stepaside area to check their tickets, the National Lottery has also revealed that this is the fifth time in the past month where an Irish player has come within one number of winning the EuroMillions jackpot.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “It’s a fantastic bit of news for a winner in the Stepaside area of Dublin and, again, we were so close to getting our 17th EuroMillions jackpot winner in Ireland.

“Irish players have been knocking on the door of late as this is the fifth ticketholder in the past month to be one lucky star number (from 1-12) short of scooping the jackpot. Let’s cross our fingers and hope we get a big EuroMillions winner soon!”

The EuroMillions numbers from last night’s draw (Friday 4th September) were: 06, 22, 29, 40, 43 and the lucky star numbers were: 04 and 07.

The National Lottery spokesperson advised: “We are asking all our players in Dublin to check their tickets very carefully and if you do happen to be one of these two ticketholders please sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize.”

While there was no winner of last night’s €17 million EuroMillions jackpot, there were more than 57,000 players in Ireland who won prizes. This Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot (September 8) will roll to an estimated €25 million.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2019 alone, €252 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
