Do Not Swim notice removed from Velvet Strand, Portmarnock

A temporary Do Not Swim warning notice for the Velvet Strand in Portmarnock has been removed.

Results received today (September 5) from samples taken on September 3 indicate a return to “excellent” status for Velvet Strand, Portmarnock beach and the notice will be removed.

Members of the public can check for water quality at any of the monitored bathing waters in Ireland in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the notice board at the entrance to each beach.
