Man arrested as drugs seized in Dun Laoghaire raid

Gardaí attached to the Dublin Metropolitan Region East Divisional Drugs Unit have seized €255,450 worth of controlled drugs and arrested one man, following a search operation in Dun Laoghaire last night.

At approximately 9pm, gardaí conducted a search and executed a Section 26 search warrant at an apartment in a residential development.

During the course of the operation, suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €253,050 and suspected heroin with an estimated street value of €2,400 were seized. The drugs will now be sent for analysis.

A large amount of drug paraphernalia including a large hydraulic press and mixing bowls were seized.

One man, late 40s, was arrested during the course of the search and taken to Dun Laoghaire Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Gardai say investigations ongoing.
