Mount Merrion dog is the Dublin entrant for Nose of Tralee competition

Dale Greenwood 16 Aug 2020

THIS little fella is Oisín, who is the Dublin Nose in the 2020 Nose of Tralee competition and a Mount Merrion resident.

Oisín is a 20-month-old Miniature Schnauzer who lost his leg at only three months due to puppy farm neglect.  He was saved by Miniature Schnauzer Rescue Ireland (MSRI), who nursed him back to health and was then adopted by his family.

Oisín is using this competition as a platform to highlight how wonderful an adopted dog can be and to campaign against puppy farming and buying dogs online.   Oisín was sold online even though his leg was badly damaged and he was very ill.

“Selling dogs online is a controversial topic at the moment and we would like to get as much publicity as we can to highlight this by helping Oisín to win this competition,” his owners say.

The Nose of Tralee is Petsitter Ireland’s annual competition to find to find the best pets in the country.
