Gardaí investigate social media footage of woman being pushed into Royal Canal

GARDAI are investigating a video that has emerged on social media showing a woman being pushed into the Royal Canal near Ashtown in Dublin.

The video shows the woman shouting as she is pushed into the water by a group of young people.

The footage was posted to the video sharing platform TikTok on Friday showing the woman telling the group not to be racially discriminatory.

It was then shared on other social media platforms although the TikTok post and the associated accounts have since been deleted.

Gardaí confirmed they are looking into reports of the racially motivated incident and subsequent video.
