IRISH TV personality Baz Ashmawy has lent his star power to TK Maxx’s Give Up Clothes for Good campaign.

This encourages the people of Dublin to donate their pre-loved quality clothes, accessories and homeware to raise money for Enable Ireland services across the country.

TK Maxx has launched its annual Give Up Clothes for Good campaign, with Baz taking part to raise money for Enable Ireland.

The initiative is Ireland’s largest clothing collection campaign and encourages people to bring unwanted items to any TK Maxx store throughout the year.

All items donated will be sold in Enable Ireland shops around the country or recycled to raise funds to support children with disabilities.

Ambassador for the TK Maxx Give Up Clothes for Good campaign, Baz, is urging anyone planning a spring clean to donate their unused items to their nearest TK Maxx store.

Speaking at the launch, Baz said: “I am really excited to be teaming up with TK Maxx for this year’s Give Up Clothes for Good campaign.

“Enable Ireland is such a vital service for children and this campaign makes it so easy for everyone to support the brilliant work they do.

“Next time you are doing a clear out I’d urge you to drop your bags off at your nearest TK Maxx store and give your clothes a new lease of life while raising money for an amazing cause.”

Since 1997, TK Maxx Give Up Clothes for Good has raised over €3.4 million to support children and young people with disabilities in Ireland.

With over 40 facilities in 15 counties, Enable Ireland expert teams work with individuals and their families to develop a plan for each life stage.

TK Maxx can accept good quality clean clothing, shoes, accessories, cutlery, collectables and antiques, CDs, DVDs and mobile phones.

Each bag of donated items could raise up to €20 for Enable Ireland.

Jo Murphy, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Responsibility at TK Maxx, added: “We are incredibly proud that our partnership with Enable Ireland has had such an impact, raising over €3.4 million through the generosity of our customers and employees.

“The money raised has helped fund vital services to support children with disabilities so please get involved by donating whatever you can at TK Maxx stores across Ireland.”

John O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Enable Ireland said: “We are so grateful for the continued support we receive from TK Maxx each year for Give Up Clothes for Good.

“The campaign is always a fantastic fundraiser for us and helps us to provide vital therapy and support services to over 8,100 children and young people across Ireland.

“Disability can affect any family at any time and when it does, Enable Ireland is there to provide advice and support from the very start.

“We would like to take this brilliant opportunity to encourage everyone to get involved and donate whatever they can to their local TK Maxx when they get a chance.”
