Book of condolence to Carrickmines victims opens

DUBLIN’S Lord Mayor Críona Ní Dhálaigh has announced that a book of condolence for those who died in the Carrickmines fire tragedy is to open at the Mansion House this morning.

In a statement, Cllr Ní Dhálaigh said: “I am deeply saddened by the tragic events and I would like to extend my sympathies with the families involved and the wider Traveller community.”

She added that the book of condolence would allow Dubliners to express their sympathies and support to the families and friends of those who died.

It will be open from 11am to 4pm today, Monday 12, and Tuesday, October 13, at the Mansion House on Dawson Street, Dublin 2.

Books of condolence have also opened in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council’s offices and at Dundrum Town Centre.
