New music wall unveiled at Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport has turned one of its busiest arrival corridors into a celebration of Irish music, with a new installation in Terminal 1 greeting passengers with both sound and spectacle.
The music wall, located in the arrivals corridor of Pier 2, transforms what was once a plain walkway into a vibrant tribute to Irish sound and identity.
Featuring 11 iconic acts, including U2, Thin Lizzy, The Cranberries, Christy Moore and Sinéad O’Connor, the installation is designed to immerse travellers in Irish culture from the moment they arrive.
New speakers installed along the corridor now play tracks associated with the featured artists, while LED lighting and spotlights highlight the larger-than-life portraits. The result is a space that feels less like a transit route and more like a curated welcome.

The wall was officially opened this week by Conor Egan, Danny O’Reilly and Graham Knox (pictured above) from The Coronas, who also appear in the display.
Their presence brought a distinctly Dublin flavour to the launch at an airport that serves as both Ireland’s main gateway and one of North Dublin’s most significant employers.
For the millions of passengers who pass through Terminal 1 each year, the installation forms part of their first impression of the country.
Airport management say the aim is to reflect Ireland’s global reputation for music and creativity.
According to Gary McLean, Managing Director of Dublin Airport: “Ireland is known around the world for its music, and we wanted to reflect that as soon as passengers arrive into the country.
“As Ireland’s main gateway, we pride ourselves on offering a warm and memorable welcome and this installation really hits the right note.
“The reaction has been fantastic, with many passengers stopping for selfies beside their favourite acts.
“So far, Sinéad O’Connor and U2 are proving especially popular and there was a great buzz around with the Coronas here to officially unveil the new installation.”
The airport says the music wall is the first in a series of “sense of place” initiatives planned across the terminals. Further installations will spotlight other areas where Ireland excels, including sport and the arts, with the aim of strengthening the identity of the airport as more than simply a transport hub.
For communities across North Dublin, the new feature marks another visible investment in the airport’s facilities, while presenting a snapshot of Irish culture to visitors from around the world the moment they land.
