Water supply returning to all customers in Castleknock
Dublin People 19 Sep 2024Uisce Éireann is aware that some customers in the Castleknock area may still be experiencing water supply disruptions this morning.
Uisce Éireann crews have been working on site in recent days in response to an outage in the Castleknock area, which also resulted in low pressure issues for a number of customers in Carpenterstown and surrounding areas.
While normal supply has returned to most customers overnight, a small number of homes and businesses in Farmleigh, Carpenterstown and surrounding areas are continuing to experience low pressure and outages as the system continues to recharge.
Further work has taken place on site this morning and water services crews have successfully carried out the necessary works to ensure supply can be returned to all customers. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage or longer for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Uisce Éireann’s Operations Lead Tselo Tlou thanked those affected for their patience while crews carried out the works: “We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we regret the inconvenience caused. We would like to thank impacted customers for their patience while we worked on repairs and restoring the water supply as quickly as possible.”
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
