Fingal County Council Libraries Department has announced the introduction of a new Fingal Mobile Library stop at Castleknock Community Centre.

The mobile library will appear every second Thursday afternoon from 3:15pm – 4:15pm.

The new stop was officially announced last week with a visit from the Mayor of Fingal Cllr. Howard Mahony, County Librarian Betty Boardman and Senator Emer Currie.

The Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. Howard Mahony commented: “I am very pleased to see the new Fingal Mobile Library stop being added to the Dublin 15 area.

“Libraries are an extremely valuable resource to communities across Fingal in particular the Fingal Mobile Library service.

“The fleet of mobile vans are a huge asset for Fingal County Council, ensuring all residents have access to reading and information materials that are available at local branches”.

Fingal Libraries County Librarian, Betty Boardman said the new library stop “has been very well received particularly by those who may be more isolated or do not have immediate access to books.

“Our friendly and experienced library staff are there to ensure that everyone who visits the mobile library vans get the greatest enjoyment and benefit from their visit.”

The Fingal Mobile Library service operates Monday to Thursday on a monthly timetable to over 60 locations.

The four mobile library vans are a valuable service to those in rural areas, schools, crèches and residents with limited access to public transport.

The timetable can be viewed on the Fingal Libraries website https://www.fingal.ie/fingallibraries.
