Tyrrelstown FC Needs You!

Padraig Conlon 21 Apr 2021

The Football Association of Ireland and Fingal County Council’s Sports Office are seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to be part of a volunteer team to organise, assist and/or coach at a reformed Tyrrelstown Football Club.

Tyrrelstown has many children, youth and adults that have a huge interest in football and there is a clear need for a football club in the area.

It is hoped to start operations in the summer with the vision of reforming the former football club (depending on government restrictions) as soon as possible.

Please get in touch if you are someone who:

  • is passionate about football and the community
  • is happy working as part of a team
  • is organised and committed

If this is something you feel you could contribute to please fill out the expression of interest:

Jamie Wilson Fingal/FAI Development Officer will be in contact with everyone who fills out the expression of interest over the coming weeks.

Mayor of Fingal Cllr. David Healy said: “Sports clubs of all types are a fantastic way of bringing communities together, improving health and physical fitness, and making areas vibrant and connected.

“Reforming Tyrrelstown Football Club is a hugely positive goal and I look forward to its success.”

Chief Executive of Fingal County Council AnnMarie Farrelly said: “Fingal are fully behind these efforts to re-establish a football club in the area to continue to support the development of Tyrrelstown.

“It’s been a very tough year for everyone, we are all hoping the future will be brighter and it would be fantastic to see a new football club bring some much-needed positivity to the area.”

FAI/Fingal Development Officer Jamie Wilson said: “A team of volunteers is required to run a club and we are looking for committed individuals, who are willing to get involved regardless of their previous football experience.

“There is more to a football club than coaching kids, so although we do need coaches and managers to work with players, we also need a variety of other skills that aren’t football based so there really are opportunities for everyone to get involved”.
