Gardaí arrest 5 people in connection to north Dublin shooting in May 2020

Gardaí in Ballymun have made five arrests in connection to a shooting at Cromcastle Drive, Kilmore in May 2020 when a man, 30s, was shot a number of times.

Gardaí say that a lone gunman forced his way into the victim’s house at about 2pm on the day in question and opened fire.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: “The five, four men (two aged in their 30s, one 40s and one 20s) and a woman (30s), were arrested during an operation in north Dublin this morning, Tuesday 6th April 2021.

“They are currently detained under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 and at various Garda Stations throughout the DMR North Division and can be held for up to seven days.

“Today’s arrests are the first in the case to date. The injured man has since recovered from the incident.

“The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
