“King of The Hill” Tony Broughan laid to rest

Thousands of mourners turned out to honour legendary Dubs superfan Tony Broughan who was buried today.

The 89-year-old died last Wednesday at his son’s home in Cabra following an illness and today his remains were brought to the Church of the Most Precious Blood on Faussagh Avenue for his funeral service.

His cortege stopped for a few minutes outside Croke Park on the way to the cemetery where he was buried beside his wife Rose, who died three years ago.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only 50 mourners were allowed into the church for the Requim Mass.

Tony Broughan is survived by his daughters Rosemary, Patricia, Audrey, Martina and Jacinta and his sons Anthony, Terry and Kenneth.
