Major water network upgrade for Blanchardstown

Irish Water and Fingal County Council are progressing with major network upgrade in Blanchardstown area, it has been stated.

Irish Water, working in partnership with Fingal County Council, is progressing with a major water network upgrade project in the Blanchardstown area.

The Cruiserath Road Water Network Upgrade is a key project and, following completion, will have significant benefits for the local area, facilitating economic development and providing for a growing population. It will also help protect the health of local communities and the environment

The works are scheduled to start on Monday, August 31 and will involve the construction of 700m of new watermain along the R121 Cruiserath Road from the Corduff Road Roundabout to the entrance on an existing pumping station beside the Alexion Facility

Short-term water shut-offs may be necessary, however, Irish Water will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to any planned supply disruptions.

To facilitate the safe delivery of the works, the following temporary road closures and traffic management will be place until December 7.

The R121 Cruiserath Road will be closed from the Corduff Road roundabout to the roundabout on Church Road / Damastown Avenue. A one-way system will be in place for eastbound traffic (toward City Centre).

Westbound traffic (travelling toward Damastown / Tyrrelstown) will be diverted onto the Corduff Road and back onto the R121 at the Hollystown Road roundabout. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted and emergency and restricted local access will be maintained.

Irish Water and Fingal County Council say they regret any inconvenience these necessary works may cause.
