Major development plan for former CIE lands in Cabra withdrawn

PLANNING application for a major residential development at the former CIE lands Carnlough Road, Cabra, has been withdrawn.

The plan for 387 apartments in mostly four-storey blocks and almost 3,000 sq mts of commercial floor space was originally submitted by Crekav Landbank Investments.

The proposal included the demolition of nos 2 and 4 Carnlough Road and provision of a crèche and retail supermarket.

Crekav has been described as one of Dublin’s most prolific residential land buyers in recent times, reportedly spending upwards of €30 million this year alone.

The company also recently withdrew two major planning applications that would have brought over 270 new homes to Finglas and Poppintree.

When contacted by Northside People, Crekav Landbank Investments had no comment to make when asked why the plans in Finglas and Poppintree were withdrawn or if revised applications would be submitted at a later date.
