Gardaí appeal for witnesses after serious Coolock asssault

Shortly after 6:00pm, Gardaí and emergency services responded to report of a man found unresponsive at Clonshaugh Park, Coolock, Dublin 17.

The man (aged in his 50’s) was conveyed to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. His condition remains critical.

The scene was preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of  the Clonshaugh Park entrance to Belcamp Park, or Clonshaugh Drive, Coolock, Dublin 17, during the hours of 5:30pm and 6:30pm on Wednesday 20th May 2026 and who may have camera footage—including dash-cam footage—is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.

In particular, Gardaí are appealing to people who may have been exercising in Belcamp Park at the time.
