91 candidates announced for Fingal County Council
Mike Finnerty 20 May 2024There will be 91 candidates competing for the 40 seats up for grabs on Fingal County Council next month.
There are 19 non-party candidates in the field while Sinn Féin with 15 is running the most candidates among the political parties followed by Fianna Fáil with 13. F
ine Gael has nine candidates, Labour have eight and the Green Party are fielding seven. People Before Profit – Solidarity are running six candidates while the Social Democrats have five candidates and Aontú four.
The Irish Freedom Party will be fielding two candidates while there is one candidate representing Independents4Change, The Irish People, and the National Party.
39 of the outgoing 40 councillors are running for re-election following after Natalie Treacy decided to run for a Dublin City Council seat in Cabra-Glasnevin.
Counting of the votes will take place at the National Show Centre in Swords from Saturday, June 8.
