RAHENY Tidy Village Group (RTVG) say they are thrilled to win their first Silver Medal in the national SuperValu Tidy Towns awards.

The group has been working tirelessly for over twenty years to improve the village for residents and visitors.

The silver medal is testament to the hard work and dedication of their volunteers and the only silver medal in the Dublin City Council area.

In recent times, the interest of the group has widened to include sustainability and biodiversity.

They were delighted to be crowned national winners of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan award at the ceremony in Croke Park on Friday, October 6.

On Thursday, October 5, representatives of the RTVG also attended the Dublin City Council Neighbourhood awards.

They won 1st prize for Mixed Use Street (Main Street), Perky’s café won 2nd for Best Shop Front and the village came 2nd in the Urban Village category.

A spokesperson from the group said they were over the moon with the awards this year and they would like to thank Dublin City Council, local residents and businesses that have supported them.
