Fingal County Council successfully launched the Fingal Connect app during the recent Flavours of Fingal festival where the app was promoted with a series of free merchandise giveaways including water bottles, bucket hats, bug hotels and the top prize of a state-of-the-art paddle board. The paddle board was delivered to the delighted winner this week.

The Fingal Connect app is the newest addition to aid the Council’s digital transformation initiatives under the umbrella of Digital Fingal.

Through the Fingal Connect app, residents will be able to get real time news and updates on events as well as information on businesses across Fingal who are part of the Fingal In It Together initiative. The app allows users to earn points by answering surveys, which can be traded in for rewards with local shops and amenities.

Mayor of Fingal Cllr Howard Mahony said:

“Fingal connect is truly a step towards a digital future. By providing endless opportunities for citizens to fully immerse themselves in local communities, the app is an extension of Fingal’s commitment to transparency and public service.”

“Fingal Connect will also be a key partner in future events and festivals organised by the Council.

“The app will provide a comprehensive guide to events as well as exclusive competitions and giveaways for users and a opportunity to  feedback on events.

Media and Communications Manager, Gerry McDermott, said:  “‘The Communications team at Fingal County Council is always looking for ways to keep citizens informed about the work the Council does and the Fingal Connect app is another important digital communication tool alongside our website, fingal.ie, and our social media channels.”

Digital Programme Officer, Fingal County Council, Aishling Hyland adds

“Fingal Connect is an app which allows citizens to give suggestions, respond to surveys and get the latest news and event information. As users engage with the app, they gain points which can be redeemed for various rewards from local shops and amenities. Geolocation technology is used to match users with content relevant to them, such as events they are attending or issues affecting their locality. The App is a great way for people to learn about the many events and amenities in their locality and it’s a brilliant tool for businesses to promote their services to local communities. We’re encouraging residents and businesses to download the app, get involved and have their say!”

Fingal Businesses looking to have their business listed on the app can email digitalfingal@fingal.ie

The app is free to download and available on both Android and IOS.
