Rose Festival returns to St. Anne’s Park

Padraig Conlon 14 Jul 2022

After an absence of two years the Rose Festival at St. Anne’s Park returns this weekend.

This Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th of July, the festival will make its triumphant return to the park after a two-year hiatus, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Caroline Conroy said, “I’m delighted to see the Rose Festival back again.

“Dubliners have really missed it over the last couple of years, so it’s great to see it bring its signature splashes of colour back to St. Anne’s Park.

“I encourage those who have yet to experience its charm to pay the park a visit and enjoy all that this vibrant festival offers.”

The Council’s Parks, Biodiversity and Landscape Services are delighted to be organising this family-friendly event once again.

Set in the 270-acre historic St. Anne’s Park, the festival offers an enjoyable, entertaining and fun day out for all the family.

As the festival is held at the peak of flowering season for roses, it is a fantastic opportunity to see these beautiful flowers at their best.

In addition to the flowers, there will be plenty of other attractions for all of the family to enjoy.

The two-day festival will feature the Army Band, the Irish Bluegrass Band, the Back Stage Bandits, the Dollymount Drifters, the Prairie Dawgs, the Leinster String Quartet, Brian Boru, the Dublin Ukulele Collective, the Harmania Indie Choir, the Leinster String Quartet, and poet, Jan Bierton, author of What Day Is It?.

Don’t miss the designated biodiversity village, with a play area for children and The Big Dig.

There will also be plant sellers, nurseries, garden centres, florists, recyclers, up-cyclers, trade stands, treats, and more!

There will be a number of guided tours taking place over the weekend.

The first is a theatrical tour in the walled garden in St. Anne’s Park, ‘A bond which ties us to every stone’.
