Elm Eagles Special Olympics Golf Club, who play their golf and pitch & putt at Elmgreen Golf Club, enjoyed a very special day out recently at The Royal Dublin Golf Club in Clontarf.

One of the Elm Eagles players, Conor Dunne and Leonard Owens (a former club professional at Royal Dublin) organised a full day of golf fun, including putting and chipping competitions as well as a round on the course.

“Our thanks to The Royal Dublin Golf Club for sponsoring the event,” the club says.

Peter Knight, Head Coach of Elm Eagles said: “Our members were delighted and excited to have this special treat of a day at The Royal Dublin.

“This famous, classic links course gives our members a unique golfing challenge. The support that everyone at Royal Dublin has given is wonderful”.

Elm Eagles have 14 active members and meet every Saturday at Elmgreen GC, from September to June, where they have a group coaching session followed by a game of either golf or pitch and putt.
