Irish Water and Fingal County Council advise of network upgrade works in Portmarnock on Thursday

Irish Water, in partnership with Fingal County Council, is carrying out upgrade works in Portmarnock to facilitate new connections and support growth and development in the area.

While works are underway, customers on Carrickhill Rd and surrounding areas in Portmarnock will experience temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages on Thursday March 3 from 4pm until 9pm. Portmarnock village will not be impacted.

In a statement, Irish Water said:

“Typically it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.

“Vulnerable customers who have already registered with Irish Water will receive direct communications regarding this water outage.”

Speaking about the works, Dave Murphy, Irish Water said, “Irish Water understands that essential upgrade works can be inconvenient and, working in partnership with our colleagues in Fingal County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause.”

“Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise.

To facilitate the safe delivery of these works traffic management will be necessary and a Stop/Go system will be in place on Carrickhill Road for the duration of the works.
