Teenager sent forward for trial over incident at Howth Junction last April

A teenager been sent forward for trial in connection with an incident involving a 17-year-old girl being allegedly knocked under a train.

CCTV footage showed the girl falling between the platform and a stationary train after the incident at Howth Junction station on April 1 last year.

Three 17-year-old boys have since been charged with violent disorder over the incident.

One of the boys was also charged with assault causing harm to the girl.

Three 17 year olds were charged with violent disorder by using or threatening to use violence with two others.

One of them had an additional charge for assault causing harm to the girl.

He faced a preliminary hearing at the Dublin Children’s Court in December.

The teenager appeared in court again yesterday to be served with a book of evidence.

Judge Paul Kelly granted the DPP a return for trial order and told the accused he was being sent forward to the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, where he will face his next hearing in March.
