Irish Water working on two burst watermains at Malahide today

Irish Water has released a statement after two watermains burst in Malahide village today.

It says that it is “working with Fingal County Council to carry out urgent repairs to restore water supply in parts of Malahide.

“Crews are working to repair two bursts on the watermains as quickly and as safely as possible in line with Covid-19 protocols.”

The water authority said that the water supply to Biscayne, Sea Park and the surrounding areas will be impacted.

Back Road will also be effected.

“Both watermains repairs are expected to be completed by 4pm.

“Once the repairs are successfully completed, normal water supply will begin to be restored.

Full water supply may take 1-2 hours to return as water refills the network,” says Irish Water.

“Irish Water understands the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore normal supply to impacted customers.

“Irish Water and Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused.

“Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.
