MEMBERS of a Northside group are celebrating after dancing their way to big success at an event in Disneyland Paris earlier this month.

At the International Festival of Dance and Performing Arts (IFDPA) championship, Bfamous Stage School secured first places with a team of 25 dancers, ranging in age from seven to 15.

The team comprised members from the stage school’s Donaghmede and Cabra locations. In addition to taking part in the competition, they got to perform on stage in Disneyland Paris as part of ‘Disney’s Performing Arts Programme’, and marched in the daily Disney parade down main street Disneyland Paris.

IFDPA is a premier dance championship at Disneyland® Paris for all dance schools, dance groups, performing arts schools, musical theatre schools, duo and solo performers, singers and musical groups who wish to compete and have fun.

Bfamous directors Brendan Marc Scully and Claire Ryan put the groups through their paces to make sure the teams were at their top level and international-ready to compete alongside the other competitors from Dubai, Scotland and England to name but a few.

Mr Scully said: “We are so proud of all of our members. Myself and Claire would like to not only say well done to all our teams’ hard work which resulted in their success, but to all their families who supported us all along the way.

“We would also like to say a big thank you to Windsor Raheny Nissan for their kind sponsorship towards our team tracksuits and our squad looking so good.”

Bfamous are no strangers to showcasing their skills on international stages having previously performed at Disneyland California, in addition to their own productions in Liberty Hall and The Helix Theatre.
