Lost wedding band is found after Northside People appeal

The wedding band, pictured on her baby finger, has now been found.

A lost wedding band has been returned to its 90-year-old owner in Coolock following an online appeal by Northside People.

Last week we reported how an elderly Coolock reader was heartbroken after losing her late mother's wedding ring, which she has been wearing since 1986.

The woman had never taken the ring off and was devastated when she realised it had fallen off her finger. Her family had searched everywhere but haven't been able to find it.

Northside People put out an appeal for help on its Facebook page and one of our readers got in touch after recognising the ring from the photo we posted.

The woman's grandaughter said her nanny was overjoyed to get the ring back. Mysteriously, it was found on Distillery Road in Drumcondra, even though she had not been there.

The family expressed their gratitude to the Northside People readers who responded to the appeal.
