THE Irish Youth Foundation sports lunch took place recently at the Shelbourne Hotel, where guests mingled with sports stars from the worlds of boxing, golf, GAA, rugby, hockey and more.

MC for the afternoon, broadcaster Joanne Cantwell, led an entertaining and insightful Q&A discussion with guest of honour, former Dublin football manager Jim Gavin. Among those in attendance on the day was the event’s ambassador golfer Pádraig Harrington, along with Paralympian Ellen Keane, from Clontarf, rugby pundit Brent Pope, boxing champ Kellie Harrington, from the north inner city, athlete Ciara Neville, modern pentathlete Natalya Coyle, Dublin football father-and-son duo Barney and Dean Rock, hockey player Deirdre Duke, and rugby players Luke Fitzgerald and Eoin Reddan.

Guests had the chance to win fantastic prizes during the charity raffle and auction, while comedian Oliver Callan entertained the audience with his spot-on impressions.

All proceeds from the day will go to Irish Youth Foundation-supported projects, working with children and young people living
in vulnerable circumstances across Ireland. For more information on the Irish Youth Foundation, visit www.iyf.ie
