TWO Northside women will be among the locals taking part in the seventh annual Miss Bikini Ireland competition.

Keara Lydon (20), from Malahide and Zoë Ryan (23), from Clontarf, are two of the 40 finalists vying for the top prize in the Grand Final on October 14 at the Red Cow Inn.

Zoë, a former student at Mount Temple Comprehensive School, entered the competition in June and was thrilled to make it through to the final.

“It’s the first time I’ve entered a competition like this and it’s been a great experience,” she says. “I’ve received great support since I entered it, especially from my mum and sister.

“I was nervous going to the first photoshoot at the weekend. It’s a very well run competition, though, and I was soon put at ease.”

Zoë, who manages a business centre in Clontarf, said her dream is to be a full-time model.

“This competition has given me a great opportunity to meet people and start networking. It has also given me the opportunity to promote healthy living and exercise. These are things that are very important to me.”

Zoë adds: “I’m writing a blog at the moment about taking part in Miss Bikini Ireland; it can be found at www.zoeryanblog.com

Keara Lydon is a personal trainer at Flyefit CHQ, a qualified make-up artist and a freelance model. She won the ‘Most Beautiful Girl in Ireland’ competition for 2016/2017.

“Fitness is literally my life,” she says. “It’s what has gotten me through the tough times both mentally and physically.

“It has taught me discipline, challenged me and made me work harder than ever to achieve my goals I have set out for myself.

“At Miss Bikini Ireland I want to promote a healthy body image especially in women and show that you can achieve the results you want without going for surgery, taking diet tablets and unhealthy eating patterns.

Keara adds: “This year I qualified as a personal trainer. It is my dream to help women have a healthier, stronger and better body.”
