Sarah is aiming to land Miss Bikini title

A NORTHSIDE woman is hoping to land a top prize that could set her on the path to a future modelling career.

Sarah Crawte (20), from Woodlawn, Santry, is one of 35 women who will compete for this year’s Miss Bikini Ireland title.
On December 1 Sarah will compete for the right to represent Ireland in Swimsuit USA International, a model search competition that will be taking place from December 11-18.
The overall winner in the US will walk away with €80,000 in prize money.
Sarah, a former Mount Temple Comprehensive School student, works for Better Body Gym in Phibsborough as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. The company is kindly sponsoring her in the Miss Bikini Ireland competition.
“I applied for this contest to challenge myself,” she says.
“I struggled with confidence but I have had a mind shift in previous years since training as a fitness instructor and watching Youtube motivational videos.
“I never thought I would see the day I would be standing in front of a class teaching never mind entering a competition like this.
“I used to rely on people for everything.
“Once I stopped depending on people and taking control of my own actions and life, everything has changed.
“I look forward to the rest of the competition and constantly challenging myself in front of the camera.”
According to Sarah, Miss Bikini Ireland, now in its sixth year, is different to other model searches.
“There are no height restrictions and no previous experience is needed,” she says.
“Training consists of photoshoots, social media training, fitness training, catwalk training and more.
“The judges want a girl who is easy to work with, proves she is hard working, determined and reliable. They monitor what we post on social media to prove we are consistently working.”
The Miss Bikini Ireland competition is decided on a combination of the judges’ votes and text votes.
“On December 1, five girls will be picked from the 35,” says Sarah.
“The girl with the most text votes will automatically go through, and the other four will be chosen from a combination of text votes and judges’ votes.
“An overall winner will be chosen then to represent Ireland in the US.”
Sarah, one of three children, says she would definitely be interested in modelling as a full-time career.
“I’ve done a couple of photoshoots and entering a competition like Miss Bikini Ireland has give me a taste for it,” she adds.
