NOSTALIGIA was in the Clontarf air recently for the 60th anniversary of St Gabriel’s Church.

As part of the celebrations to mark the milestone, a large exhibition of memorabilia, sent in by parishioners, was organised. The exhibition included a large display of photos on the walls of the church. There was also Powerpoint presentations with spoken narrative for each decade since the church opened back in 1956.

All of the church choirs performed throughout the evening, entertaining those in attendance with music and song from each of the six decades. Refreshments were served in the church at the end of the event.

Then, on October 2,  Archbishop Diarmuid Martin was the chief celebrant at a special Mass of Thanksgiving. Priests who were ordained at St Gabriel’s or served over the years were invited to attend the mass.
