Parnell’s to host open air screening of All-Ireland final

Dublin People 09 Sep 2016
If you can’t get to Croke Park, watching the match on the big screen is the next best thing.

PARNELL’S GAA Club, in association with EZ Living Furniture, has confirmed that both the Minor and Senior All-Ireland Football finals will be screened live on the big screen this Sunday, September 18, at its headquarters in Coolock Village.

David Feeney, from Parnell’s GAA Club, said: “We’re encouraging everyone who won’t be travelling to Croke Park to come down to Parnell’s GAA Club in Coolock and join in the match-like atmosphere and the buzz of All-Ireland final day. The idea is to create a sea of blue as we shout on the Dublin team to All Ireland glory.

“We are asking spectators to please refrain from bringing alcohol with them on the day as this is a free family event focused around creating an atmosphere for the children seeing the Boys in Blue play at Croke Park.

“We will have the restaurant open on site on the day, as well as our function room, so it promises to be a great day out for the whole family.”

All elements of the event are now in place with EZ Living providing their big screen for what promises to be one of the biggest outdoor screenings of an All-Ireland Football final ever seen.

The throw-in time for the All Ireland Minor Championship final between Kerry and Galway is 1.15pm, while the All Ireland Senior Football Championship final between Dublin and Mayo starts at 3.30pm.

Supporters are advised to arrive in plenty of time to allow for parking and access to the grounds.

There is no entry charge to the screening of the games, which is suitable for all the family to attend.

This screening is being made possible through the generous support of EZ Living Furniture who kindly supplied the TV screen to show the games on September 18.

EZ Living Furniture ran a competition for local Dublin GAA clubs to win the chance to screen the match on their grounds and Parnell’s was the lucky club chosen.

Similar events in other towns and cities across the country have proven popular in recent years and there are thousands of fans expected on Sunday at Parnell’s which should create an atmosphere to emulate that of Croke Park, so you are asked to arrive early.
