Van-tastic news as Berlingo range arrives here in July

Dublin People 19 Jun 2015

CITROÃ?N’S best-selling LCV, the Berlingo, made its debut with advanced BlueHDi Euro 6 compliant engines – plus specification and styling enhancements – at the CV Show in the UK recently.

The new Berlingo range will be on sale in Ireland from July 2015, bringing with it further running cost reductions and environmental benefits, combined with driver comfort, safety and convenience gains.

The New Berlingo is the first Citroën LCV range to be powered by Euro 6 compliant BlueHDi diesel engines, which use advanced Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology.

Citroën will be extending the application of these low-emissions, highly fuel-efficient BlueHDi engines across its entire LCV line-up as part of a rolling programme starting in July 2015 and running through to September 2016.

Citroën is meeting tough Euro 6 requirements for NOx emission reductions with the application of its SCR technology. BlueHDi powered new Berlingo models have an efficient, three-stage SCR process to treat emissions caused by combustion.

BlueHDi powered new Berlingo vans have a 17-litre AdBlue tank, which will last for up to 14,000 miles, depending on the type of vehicle operation. AdBlue is widely available from various outlets, including Citroën dealers.

The new Berlingo range will go on sale in July with a choice of Euro 5 HDi 75 and HDi 90 engines, complemented by the more powerful Euro 6 BlueHDi 100. The HDi 75 and HDi 90 engines will be available with 5-speed manual transmissions, while the BlueHDi engines will, depending on model, be available with Stop & Start and Citroën’s ETG6 automated manual transmission.

The current specification Euro 5 HDi 75 and HDi 90 engines, already among the most efficient available in this sector, will be available in the new Berlingo range until May 2016. Then the HDi 75 will be replaced by a new, Euro 6 compliant BlueHDi 75 engine. More details of the New Berlingo range will be released at the CV Show, together with homologated emissions and combined cycle fuel economy figures.

In addition to the introduction of BlueHDi engines, new Berlingo models will gain specification upgrades to benefit both the operator and the driver. Externally, new Berlingo vans have a redesigned grille and front bumper and are available with an optional Look Pack, featuring LED daytime-running lights.

Internally, both new Berlingo LX and Enterprise trim levels gain cruise control and a programmable speed limiter. Top-of-the-range new Berlingo Enterprise models also gain an upgraded DAB audio system, incorporating a 7-inch touchscreen with Mirror Screen technology. In addition, the new Berlingo Enterprise trim level now includes an alarm for increased security and peace of mind.
